A basic geological survey at Saitama University revealed that the humidity inside the cave is important, and it is important to protect the inside of the cave from drying out. In response to this, in 2017, we received a grant from the East Japan Railway Culture Foundation, and the closed cave renovation project was promoted.

From the geological basic research by the geological basic research by  Saitama University, it was found that the humidity in the cave is important, and it is important to protect the cave from dryness.  In response to this, we received the support of the East Japan Railway Culture Foundation in 2017, and it has been promoted the renovation project of  the air tight  gate of this  cave.

Since the floor is not horizontal, undercutting the door was unavoidable, but after the viewing time, it seems that the inflow of outside air can be suppressed firmly.

The undercut of the door was inevitable because the floor was not horizontal. However,  It seems to be able to suppress the inflow of outside air.

We have re-installed a guide sign board inside the cave that clearly shows the floor plan of the entire cave. Information boards have been installed in various parts of the cave so that visitors can know where they are in the underground space. The evacuation route is also specified.

Non-combustible performance confirmation

After the grant was adopted, mischief caused by fire was confirmed in multiple places in the cave, so we ordered a sample of the guide plate and confirmed that it was nonflammable.

Information display board

We were able to install a cave guidance display board that was printed in multiple colors on a rust-resistant aluminum board and had a special nonflammable coating.

Direction display board

As we investigate, we often meet spectators who get lost and are asked for exit directions. Therefore, we also installed a direction guide plate.
